Volunteer Opportunities
Police Department
Our valuable volunteers work throughout the department on a variety of tasks ranging from clerical work, publications, and providing tours, to investigation assistance, neighborhood speed control, and much more.
Lakewood Cultural and Heritage Center
We have a spot waiting just for you! We provide training; orientation is quick and fun; and there is no minimum number of volunteer hours required. We are looking for volunteers at the Lakewood Cultural Center, Lakewood's Heritage Center and Washington Heights Arts Center, as well as for Cider Days and the Summer Concert Series.
Lakewood Recreation
Recreation offers several opportunities to volunteer and impact the lives of kids and the health of our community. Become a volunteer coach or sign up to volunteer at the Bearable Adventure Race.

Lakewood Economic Development and Sustainability
We help Lakewood businesses grow and prosper, and part of that is to ensure our employers have access to a talented pool of employees and volunteers with experience and a great work ethic.
Lakewood Regional Parks
Volunteer here to assist with park naturalist activities and with natural resource management. Other volunteer opportunities include volunteer project days: Earth Day, Pulling for Colorado, and National Public Lands Day.
Family Services
Family Services offers a wide range of programs and services for children, families, older adults, and individuals with disabilities.
Citizen Boards & Commissions
Get involved with your City government and help shape Lakewood's future. Apply to serve on one of Lakewood's boards or commissions, such as Planning Commission, Board of Appeals, etc. Applicants must be a resident of Lakewood, and in some instances, reside in a specific ward of the city.
