LICENSES
The following
licenses are available through the City Clerk's Office, Civic Center
South, 480 S. Allison Pkwy.

LIQUOR LICENSING
The sale and dispensing of alcohol is a strictly regulated industry
in the State of Colorado and involves dual jurisdictions: the Colorado
Department of Revenue and the local authority. In Lakewood, liquor
licensing is administered by the City Clerk's Office.
Obtaining
a liquor license:
The time period
involved in obtaining a new liquor license is approximately 4-5 months.
Online
application packets are available for download or you may pick
one up at the City Clerk's Office. Review and acceptance of applications
are done by appointment only for those in the metropolitan Denver
area. All others may submit their application by mail. If you are
unfamiliar with the length and detail involved with a liquor application,
it is recommended that you contact the City Clerk's Office to review
the packet to ensure a smooth process.
CHRISTMAS
TREE SALES LICENSE
To sell Christmas trees in Lakewood any
person, firm or corporation must first obtain a Christmas Tree License. Retail nurserys are exempt.
Packets containing
an application and additional
documents required for a Christmas Tree License may be
obtained from the City Clerk's Office. Applications are not
accepted prior to November 1. Application fees must be
paid in cash or cashier's check. Fees include a $50 non-refundable
application fee, $50 license fee and $50 lot deposit fee. The $50
lot deposit fee is returned to the applicant if the lot is cleaned
and left in an acceptable condition.

An
amusement arcade is a business where an individual, association,
partnership, corporation of limited liability company maintains
more than 14 amusement devices. An amusement device means any
device which, upon insertion of a coin, slug, token, plate or disc,
or payment of a consideration, may be used by the public for use
as a game, entertainment, amusement, a test of skill, either mental
or physical, whether or not registering a score; but shall not include
radios, devices that provide music only, television carrying commercial
broadcasts only, billiard tables, darts, bowling lanes, or fixed-stand
coin-operated kiddie rides. An Amusement Arcade must be licensed
with the City of Lakewood.
Packets containing an application and additional documents required
for an Amusement Arcade License may be obtained from the City Clerk's
Office. A background investigation is completed on all individuals
listed on an application.

Changes
Any
individual, partnership, or corporation engaging in the business
of making contracts for purchase or purchase transactions must obtain
a City of Lakewood Pawnbroker's License.
Packets containing
an application and additional documents required for a Pawnbroker's
License may be obtained from the City Clerk's Office. A license
is for one year from the date issued. Fees are: non-refundable application
fee of $500, non-refundable annual
license fee of $2,500. A background
investigation is completed on all individuals listed on an application.
ADULT BUSINESS

The Lakewood
City Council has determined that licensing adult businesses is a
legitimate and reasonable means of accountability to ensure that
the operators of an adult business comply with reasonable regulations
and to ensure that operators do not knowingly allow their establishments
to be used as places of illegal activity. If you have any questions
regarding Adult Business Licenses, please contact the City Clerk's
Office.
