Planning Commission: The City of Lakewood has an opening on the Planning Commission for an At-Large position (Wards 1, 2, 4, & 5). The opening is for an unexpired four-year term that will end on May 31, 2021. The Planning Commission conducts public hearings on rezoning and subdivision applications, approves certain special use permits, and reviews site plans. Additionally, Planning Commission Members serve on the Board of Adjustment. The Planning Commission meets at 7 p.m. the first and third Wednesdays of each month for regular meetings and at 6:30 p.m. on the second and fourth Wednesdays of each month for study session meetings.

Advisory Commission currently has several openings for unexpired terms.
Members of the commission serve as advisors to the Lakewood City Council. In
this role, members research specific issues or topics of interest to the
citizens of Lakewood and make recommendations to City Council regarding those
issues for potential action. Members should plan to attend a minimum of two
meetings a month. Applicants
must attend both a full commission meeting and an individual committee meeting
