Advisory Commission for an Inclusive Community (ACIC)
: Several positions are available on the ACIC to fill unexpired terms. Members of the ACIC serve in an advisory role to the Lakewood City Council. In this advisory role, ACIC members research specific issues or topics of interest to the citizens of Lakewood and make recommendations to City Council regarding those issues for potential action. Members should plan to attend a minimum of two meetings a month; a Full Commission Meeting and a committee meeting. Visit www.lakewood.org/ACIC for more information.

Victim Assistance Compensation Board: The City of Lakewood has two resident openings on the Victim Assistance Compensation Board. The openings are for full, three-year term positions that will commence on October 1, 2014 and will expire on March 31, 2017. The Board considers request for compensation to victims through an application process. It also monitors the Victim Assistance Fund and insures that funds are utilized in accordance with the law. Meetings are held on the third Thursday of the month, at 8:00 a.m., in the Police Department. The meetings generally last less than two hours and require approximately one hour for preparation. Deadline to apply: noon on August 25, 2014.
