Heritage Hookers
Bring your lunch and join this lively rug hooking group who are experts at this great American tradition. Space and shared materials are provided to work on your current project or to learn new skills. For an additional fee, instruction is offered as requested.
Noon-4 pm, third Sat monthly (except holidays)

$3 drop-in fee

History Trunks
Get up close and personal with real artifacts while exploring our area¹s culture and history. These hands-on trunks may either be explored with a skilled presenter’s help or on your own. Select from the following:
Plains Indians
Homesteading Through the Twenties
Agriculture
By reservation only
$2 per student, $3 per adult on-site (1 hr program)
$45/day off-site with guide (1 hr program), $35/day off-site without guide
Tea on the Farm
Have a wonderful time at our Ladies Afternoon Tea in the restored 1930s Farmhouse. An assortment of goodies made from original 1930s recipes and a special guest speaker who will give a short presentation significant to the time period are included with your reservation.

Historical Luncheons
Enjoy a delightful lunch at the Lakewood¹s Heritage Center Schoolhouse with delicious fare, pleasant conversation and a guest speaker highlighting a topic of 20th Century history.
- Tues May 13 Posey¹s Spurs; true stories about Western Slope sheriffs & bandits, and We shall Fall as Leaves; true accounts of the Colorado Utes by author Howard E. Greager
- Tues Jun 10 Hair, Halos & Hats; Women¹s History through Headwear by Dr. Beverly Chico, internationally known collector and historian
- Tues Jul 8 Basins of Silver; Mining History of Silverton, Las Animas Mining District, by author Eric Twitty (just released in June 2008!)
- Tues Aug 12 Lynching in Colorado, 1859 1919; by author and historian Dr. Stephen J. Leonard
