Bear Creek Lake Park offers a wide variety of experiences for equestrian users.
Trail System
The park offers approximately 15 miles of multi-use dirt trails. The majority of these are open to horseback riders, and include open meadows, creekside trails, and wide-ranging views from Mount Carbon. There are also trail connections to the Bear Creek Greenbelt. Equestrians need to remember that the Owl Trail, Fitness Trail, Cottonwood Trail and sections of the Fishermen’s Trail are closed to horses. It is also important to note that equestrians are required to remain on designated trails only and should not ride cross-country.
Bear Creek Stables
Get the feeling of the Old West by trying your hand at horseback riding. With more than 30 horses there is bound to be one that’s right for you!
Join us at the horse stables for nature rides, hay rides, lessons, summer camps and an evening ride. Reservations are encouraged.
Call 303-697-9666 or visit their website for more information.
Stables open April thru October.
Horse Arena
A public horse arena is located on the south side of the park near the stables. The arena is a great place to warm up before a trail ride.
