Chasing the Sublime a Shared Experience in Art

Three choreographers pair with three visual artists to apply their skills and imagination in a pursuit of the horizon. Chasing the Sublime is Lakewood Cultural Center’s first co-production with Ballet Nouveau Colorado. The project will open with a gallery exhibit on September 17, continue with public discussion on October 22 and culminate with three world premiere ballets in November.

Goodnight Kenny: Bed as Biography

We are born in them. We dream in them.  A third of our lives is spent sleeping in them. We love, consummate commitments, languish in sickness, and die in them.  They are the place of refuge, restoration, renewal, and escape.  Our beds are often the most intimate item of furniture that we have, our very own space that we decorate, dedicate, or defile.
Artist Ken Phillips explores “Bed as Biography” through textiles, poetry and metal sculpture.
