Arts & Culture
The City of Lakewood’s Arts & Culture programs bring in visitors from all over the Denver area and the state of Colorado, and help stimulate the local economy. A variety of live performances and festivals provide many opportunities to reach diverse audiences.
Lakewood Presents…Performing Arts Season
Every year, 12,000 people come to the Lakewood Cultural Center to see provocative theatre, dazzling dance, thrilling music and fabulous family programs.
Cider Days
Take a trip into Lakewood’s past at the Cider Days harvest festival at Lakewood Heritage Center. Cider Days is old-time fun for the whole family, with live music and historic demonstrations. Buy cider by the glass or the gallon, or press your own on our antique presses.
Sounds Exciting! Summer Concert Series
Join more than 5,000 concert-goers as they enjoy local and national talent at the Bonfils-Stanton Foundation Amphitheater in Belmar Park. The series of six concerts offer something for every musical taste with the Rocky Mountain foothills as a scenic backdrop.
Recreation
Healthy communities are stronger communities, and Lakewood Recreation offers events and programs to help people of all ages stay in shape and take care of themselves. Our community partners help keep Lakewood healthy, while reaching a large audience of active individuals.
Youth Scholarship Fund
In an effort to help all Lakewood youth get active, the City of Lakewood has created a Youth Scholarship Fund. Donations allow low-income children access to the same health and fitness programs as their peers.
Recreation and Inclusion Services for Everyone (RISE)
RISE is a therapeutic recreation program for individuals with disabilities offering activities such as bowling, dances, after school field trips, community outings and overnight trips. RISE facilitates inclusion services so that individuals with disabilities can participate in any program or activity.
Community Events
Lakewood Recreation hosts a variety of smaller community events such as Rock Steady, Souper Smarts, Eggstravaganza, Freaky Friday, Bark-n-Splash Bash, and Lakewood Trail Running Series.
