Lakewood Community Grant Program


Welcome to the City of Lakewood's charitable giving program, the Lakewood Community Grant Program, administered in coordination with the Lakewood Legacy Foundation. The Lakewood Community Grant Program establishes a process for review and evaluation of requests received by the City from nonprofit organizations.



Eligibility Criteria

Nonprofit organizations seeking funding must:

  • Have a principal place of business in Jefferson County, Colorado.
  • Allocate grant funds for services that support Lakewood residents.
  • Be registered as a Colorado nonprofit organization with the Colorado Secretary of State and be organized in the State of Colorado.
  • Have 501(c) (3) status.
  • Have a current certificate of good standing from the Colorado Secretary of State.
  • Have been in operation for three-plus years.

Please Note: Funding or sponsorship for events or conferences is not available through this grant program.

A total of $100,000 was allocated for the 2017 program.

  • Hands of the Carpenter
  • Jefferson County Library Foundation
  • Lakewood Symphony Orchestra
  • Outdoor Lab Foundation
  • Ralston House
  • Second Wind Fund
  • Seniors' Resource Center, Inc.
  • St. Anthony Health Foundation 

Applications & Evaluation


2018 Lakewood Community Grant Program



Proposals will be evaluated based on the following criteria:

  • Organization background/experience
  • Program or project information
  • Lakewood community benefit
  • Evaluation/impact
  • Financial information
  • Sustainability

2018 Timeline

  • Application deadline: March 30, 2018
  • Evaluation of applications: April 2018
  • Funding decisions: May 2018
