A RESOLUTION
SUPPORTING A GRANT APPLICATION TO GREAT OUTDOORS COLORADO REQUESTING FUNDING FOR PLAYGROUND IMPROVEMENTS AT BELMAR PARK AND AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF THE GRANT AGREEMENT IF APPROVED.
WHEREAS, the Lakewood City Council desires playground improvements at Belmar Park for the benefit of the community; and,
WHEREAS, the Department of Community Resources is applying for a grant from Great Outdoors Colorado for playground improvements at Belmar Park; and,
WHEREAS, the Great Outdoors Colorado requires a resolution supporting the grant application, from the governing body of the agency applying for the grant.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Lakewood, Colorado, that:
SECTION 1. The City Council of the City of Lakewood hereby supports the grant application to Great Outdoors Colorado for playground improvements at Belmar Park.
SECTION 2. The City Council of the City of Lakewood, Colorado hereby authorizes the Director of the Department of Community Resources to sign the grant agreement with GOCO pending approval of said grant; hereby authorizing the expenditure of funds necessary to meet the terms and obligations of the grant agreement and application.
INTRODUCED, READ AND ADOPTED by a vote of 7 for and 3 against at a regular meeting of the City Council on September 10, 2007, at 7 o'clock p.m. at the Lakewood Civic Center, 480 South Allison Parkway, Lakewood, Colorado.
