A RESOLUTION
AUTHORIZING AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD AND WIDNER & MICHOW LLP TO PROVIDE LEGAL SERVICES TO THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD
WHEREAS, on April 23, 2007 the City Council established a City Attorney Search Committee to select a City Attorney; and,
WHEREAS, after seeking Requests For Proposals and interviewing a number of candidates the Search Committee chose three finalists; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council has chosen the law firm of Widner & Michow LLP to be the City Attorney for the City; and,
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 3.04.030 of the Lakewood Municipal Code, the firm of Widner & Michow LLP is deemed to possess a high degree of professional skill and its services are thus exempt from the City's bidding requirements; and,
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City Council to enter into an Agreement with Widner & Michow LLP for a term of five (5) years.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Lakewood, Colorado that:
SECTION 1. The firm of Widner & Michow LLP is hereby appointed to provide legal services for the City of Lakewood, effective September 10, 2007 through August 31, 2012. The Mayor is hereby authorized to execute, and the City Clerk to attest, an Agreement between the City of Lakewood and Widner & Michow LLP, in form approved by the City Attorney, providing for legal services to be performed for the City of Lakewood.
SECTION 2. The Director of Finance is hereby authorized to make payment to
Widner & Michow LLP in accordance with the terms of said Agreement, upon
receipt of periodic billings.
INTRODUCED, READ AND ADOPTED by a vote of 11 for and 0 against at a regular
meeting of the City Council on August 27, 2007, at 7 o'clock p.m. at Lakewood
Civic Center, 480 South Allison Parkway, Lakewood, Colorado.
