A RESOLUTION

AUTHORIZING THE EXPENDITURE OF FUNDS AND THE APPROVAL OF A SINGLE SOURCE CONTRACT FOR THE UPGRADE OF THE BASEMENT AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM IN THE PUBLIC SAFETY CENTER.

WHEREAS, the City of Lakewood wishes to upgrade the air conditioning system in the basement area of the Public Safety Center; and

WHEREAS, the City wishes to utilize funds from the Capital Improvement Fund and the General Fund for this air conditioning system upgrade; and

WHEREAS, the City wishes to have this work completed by a single source mechanical contractor, Mechanical Technologies Group.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of Lakewood, Colorado that:

SECTION 1. The City Council of the City of Lakewood hereby approves and authorizes the expenditure of funds from the Capital Improvement Fund and the General Fund in the not to exceed amount of $430,043 (Four Hundred Thirty Thousand and Forty Three Dollars) for the upgrade of the basement air conditioning system in the Public Safety Center.

SECTION 2. The City is hereby authorized to enter into a single source contract in the not to exceed amount of $430,043 (Four Hundred Thirty Thousand and Forty Three Dollars) with Mechanical Technologies Group for the upgrade of the basement air conditioning system in the Public Safety Center.

SECTION 3. The City Manager is hereby authorized to execute and the City Clerk to attest, a contract with Mechanical Technologies Group in form approved by the City Attorney, related to the upgrades of this air conditioning system as set forth above.

SECTION 4. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect upon its passage and approval.

INTRODUCED, READ AND ADOPTED by a vote of 11 for and 0 against at a regular meeting of the City Council on February 23, 2004 at 7 o'clock p.m. at Lakewood Civic Center, 480 South Allison Parkway, Lakewood, Colorado.
