AN ORDINANCE
AMENDING SECTION 1.17.060 OF THE LAKEWOOD MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO THE EXPIRATION OF THE TERM OF MEMBERS OF THE VICTIM ASSISTANCE COMPENSATION BOARD
WHEREAS, the Victim Assistance Compensation Board was created by the City Council in 1992 to disburse funds to victim of criminal activity; and,
WHEREAS, the members of the Victim Assistance Compensation Board serve three year staggered terms which end on June 30th of the last year of the term; and,
WHEREAS, City Council finds that it will be more efficient and practical to change the expiration date of the term.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED By The City Council of The City of Lakewood, Colorado, That:
Section 1. Section 1.17.060 of the Lakewood Municipal Code is hereby amended
by the addition of a new subsection D to read as follows:
D. The term of office for members of the Victim Assistance Compensation Board
shall end on September 30th of the last year of the member's term.
Section 2. Effective date. This ordinance shall take effect thirty (30) days
after final publication.
I hereby attest and certify that the within and foregoing ordinance was introduced and read on first reading at a regular meeting of the Lakewood City Council on the 13th day of October, 2003; published in full in the Lakewood Sentinel on the 16th day of October, 2003; set for public hearing on the 27th day of October, 2003; read, finally passed and adopted by the City Council on the 27th day of October, 2003; and signed and approved by the Mayor on the 28th day of October, 2003.
