A RESOLUTION

FOR THE ADOPTION OF A MASTER PLAN FOR GARY R. MCDONNELL PARK

WHEREAS, the City of Lakewood acquired several parcels of land along Simms Street between the years of 1977 and 1986 for park purposes; and

WHEREAS, with Resolution 86-239 the City of Lakewood consolidated and named said parcels Gary R. McDonnell Park; and

WHEREAS, the Department of Community Resources has solicited park development desires for the community around Gary R. McDonnell Park; and

WHEREAS, the City Council desires to provide for the orderly development of Gary R. McDonnell Park to meet the needs and desires of the park community; and

WHEREAS, funding for the first phase of development of Gary R. McDonnell Park has been secured.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Lakewood, Colorado, that:

SECTION 1. The Master Plan for Gary R. McDonnell Park dated October 2001 is hereby adopted, and shall be used as a guide for the development of park site.

SECTION 2. The first phase development plan for Gary R. McDonnell Park as shown on the Plan of October 2001 is hereby adopted.

SECTION 3. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect upon its passage and approval.

INTRODUCED, READ AND ADOPTED by a vote of 11 for and 0 against at a regular meeting of the City Council on September 9, 2002, at 7 o'clock p.m. at Lakewood Civic Center, 480 South Allison Parkway, Lakewood, Colorado.
