A RESOLUTION

FOR ACCEPTANCE OF BID AND AUTHORIZING A CONTRACT FOR CONSTRUCTION OF MOUNTAIR PARK STREET IMPROVEMENTS

WHEREAS, by Invitation to Bid No. 2340, the City of Lakewood advertised for bids for Mountair Park Street Improvements and bids were opened on August 15, 2002; and

WHEREAS, the lowest responsive, responsible and qualified bidder has been determined to be Goodland Construction, Inc., which has submitted its bid in the amount of One Hundred Fifty-four Thousand Two Hundred Seventy-two and 00/100 Dollars ($154,272.00) pursuant to City specifications and instruction, and the City desires to accept the bid of said bidder.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of Lakewood, Colorado, that:

SECTION 1. The bid of Goodland Construction, Inc., for Mountair Park Street Improvements as described in Invitation to Bid No. 2340 is hereby accepted according to specifications as defined in the Invitation to Bid.

SECTION 2. The City Manager is hereby authorized to execute, and the City Clerk to attest, a contract with said bidder in form approved by the City Attorney in the amount of One Hundred Fifty-four Thousand Two Hundred Seventy-two and 00/100 Dollars ($154,272.00) and to authorize up to an additional ten percent, Fifteen Thousand Four Hundred Twenty-seven and 20/100 Dollars ($15,427.20) for contingencies for a total amount not to exceed One Hundred Sixty-nine Thousand Six Hundred Ninety-nine and 20/100 Dollars ($169,699.20).

SECTION 3. The City Treasurer is hereby authorized to make payment to Goodland Construction, Inc., in accordance with the terms of said contract.
