A RESOLUTION

APPROVING A CONTRACT WITH McLAUGHLIN WATER ENGINEERS FOR FINAL DESIGN OF THE LENA GULCH STABILIZATION IMPROVEMENT PROJECT.

WHEREAS, the City of Lakewood's Stormwater Utility and the Urban Drainage and Flood Control District fund drainageway maintenance projects; and

WHEREAS, the City and the Urban Drainage and Flood Control District have entered into an Intergovernmental Agreement for the design of stabilization improvements to Lena Gulch upstream of 20th Avenue; and

WHEREAS, the Urban Drainage and Flood Control District will reimburse the City $25,000 for expenses incurred to the design of these improvements; and

WHEREAS, McLaughlin Water Engineers has completed a conceptual design for stabilization improvements for Lena Gulch.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Lakewood, Colorado, that:

SECTION 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to execute and the City Clerk to attest a contract with McLaughlin Water Engineers for the final design of Lena Gulch stabilization improvements, in form approved by the City Attorney, in an amount not to exceed Fifty Seven Thousand One Hundred and No/100 Dollars ($57,100.00).

SECTION 2. The City Treasurer is hereby authorized to make payment to McLaughlin Water Engineers in accordance with the terms of said contract.

INTRODUCED, READ AND ADOPTED by a vote of 10 for and 0 against at a regular meeting of the City Council on August 12, 2002, at 7 o'clock p.m. at Lakewood Civic Center, 480 South Allison Parkway, Lakewood, Colorado.
