A RESOLUTION

APPROVING A CONTRACT BETWEEN THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT (CDBG) PROGRAM, AND JEFFERSON COUNTY HOUSING AUTHORITY TO ADMINISTER THE REHABILITATION LOAN PROGRAM

WHEREAS, the City of Lakewood as an "entitlement community" receives Community Development Block Grant funds; and

WHEREAS, these CDBG funds are appropriated by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and the City Manager or his designee as the official representative is authorized to submit documents and assurances as may be required to administer the programs and expend the funds; and

WHEREAS, on January 7, 2002, City Council endorsed Lakewood's One Year Action Plan as summarized in Policy Report No. 2002-1, which identifies program recommendations for funding based on community needs and priorities; and

WHEREAS, on February 11, 2002, City Council approved Resolution 2002-5 endorsing the recommended CDBG projects and the Housing Rehabilitation Loan Program was included in that endorsement; and

WHEREAS, the Department of Housing and Family Services recommends the City enter into a contract with the Jefferson County Housing Authority to administer the Housing Rehabilitation Loan Program for CDBG fiscal years 2001 and 2002 and to authorize the expenditure of not to exceed $350,000 for that program.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Lakewood, Colorado, that:

SECTION 1: The Mayor and City Council hereby approve a contract in form approved by the City Attorney with the Jefferson County Housing Authority to administer the Housing Rehabilitation Loan Program for CDBG fiscal years 2001 and 2002 and authorizes the expenditure of not to exceed $350,000 for that program.

against at a regular meeting of the City Council on July 22, 2002, at 7 o'clock p.m. at Lakewood Civic Center, 480 South Allison Parkway, Lakewood, Colorado.
