A RESOLUTION
AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF POLICE VEHICLES.
WHEREAS, the Police Department has a need to purchase five police cars and five motorcycles; said motorcycles being a sole source purchase; and,
WHEREAS, in accordance with the City's Purchasing Ordinance, sole source purchases and purchases in excess of $50,000 are required to be approved by City Council.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Lakewood, Colorado, that:
SECTION 1. The Police Department is hereby authorized to purchase five police cars from Lakewood Fordland in the sum of One Hundred Two Thousand, Four Hundred Fifteen Dollars ($102,415.00) and five motorcycles from Foothills BMW in the sum of Fifty-five Thousand, Eight Hundred Dollars ($55,800.00) for a total cost of One Hundred Fifty-eight Thousand, Two Hundred Fifteen Dollars ($158,215).
SECTION 2. The acquisition of the motorcycles is authorized as a sole source purchase from Foothills BMW.
SECTION 3. The City Finance Director is authorized to fund said purchases from the City Equipment Replacement Fund and to make payments in accordance with the terms of the contracts for said purchases.
INTRODUCED, READ AND ADOPTED by a vote of ___for and ___ against at a regular meeting of the City Council on June 10, 2002, at 7 o'clock p.m. at Lakewood Civic Center, 480 South Allison Parkway, Lakewood, Colorado.
