A RESOLUTION

SUPPORTING THE APPOINTMENT OF CAROL GARTON, ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR, TO THE JEFFERSON ECONOMIC COUNCIL BOARD OF DIRECTORS.

WHEREAS, the City of Lakewood holds a seat on the Board of Directors of the Jefferson Economic Council; and

WHEREAS, Felice Plain, CED, Economic Development Director, served as the City of Lakewood's representative on that Board until her departure from the City in November 2001; and

WHEREAS, various Economic Development staff members have acted as interim City of Lakewood representatives on that Board since November 2001; and

WHEREAS, Carol Garton accepted the position of Economic Development Director effective as of February 28, 2002; and

WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Lakewood wishes to appoint Carol Garton as Lakewood's new representative to the Board of Directors for the Jefferson Economic Council.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Lakewood, Colorado, that:

SECTION 1. The Council of the City of Lakewood does hereby appoint Carol Garton, Economic Development Director, as the City of Lakewood representative on the Jefferson Economic Council Board of Directors for the remainder of 2002 and continuing as the City's representative on the Board until changed by adoption of a new resolution by the City Council of the City of Lakewood.

INTRODUCED, READ AND ADOPTED BY A VOTE OF 11 For and 0 Against at a regular meeting of the City Council on March 25, 2002, at 7 o'clock p.m. at Lakewood Civic Center, 480 South Allison Parkway, Lakewood, Colorado.
