AN ORDINANCE
AMENDING SECTION 2.20.155 OF TITLE 2 OF THE LAKEWOOD MUNICIPAL CODE PERTAINING TO ADMINISTRATION AND PERSONNEL
BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Lakewood, Colorado, that
SECTION 1. Subsection 2.20.155 (1) (E) of the Lakewood Municipal Code is hereby amended and shall be as follows:
2.20.155 MARSHALS-AUTHORITY.
1. All marshals of the office shall be considered peace officers and shall exercise such peace officer authority as provided to peace officers by the laws of the State of Colorado. The scope of law enforcement authority and responsibilities otherwise granted by state law to peace officers shall be restricted to the following:
E. To transport, detain, and maintain control over city and Lakewood Police
Department prisoners en route to and from the lawful place of detention for
such prisoners; and
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall take effect thirty (30) days after final publication.
I hereby attest and certify that the within and foregoing ordinance was introduced and read on first reading at a regular meeting of the Lakewood City Council on the 25th day of November, 2002; published in full in the Lakewood Sentinel on the 28th day of November, 2002; set for public hearing on the 9th day of December, 2002; read, finally passed and adopted by the City Council on the 9th day of December, 2002; and signed and approved by the Mayor on the 10th day of December, 2002.
