CALL TO ORDER
Donald Tallman called the meeting to order at 4:10 p.m.

ROLL CALL
Members present: Robert Zachman, Jan McConnell, Peg Reed, Jennifer Sylman, Barbara Tobiska, Cathy TeSlaa, Roberta Bhasin, Dr. Matsushita, Donald Tallman, Joan Howard.

HCA Staff Members: Niña Johnson, Susan Martin, Elizabeth Nosek, Win Filipunas, Kim Kritz, Diana Allen, Alli Hiscox.

Absent: Letitia Williams, Randy Martinez, Zenat Shariff Belkin

Council Members: Jackie Herbst

APPROVAL OF MINUTES

Correction to the February 20, 2002 meeting minutes.

Niña Johnson asked that the minutes reflect the Valentine Diner is from the City of Aurora not Arvada.

Minutes from February 20, 2002, were approved with corrections by unanimous vote.

New Business

Donald Tallman stated that this commission meeting will be a working session donated to communications and marketing.

Donald Tallman passed around a "Thank You" note from previous commissioner Jackie Bodman.

Staff Reports

· Niña Johnson was asked to give an overview and discuss the HCA Master Plan at the City Council Work Session on Monday 18, 2002. The council had many questions and concerns including: future planning for Belmar Park, citizen concerns regarding temporary fencing, parking. Kathy Hodgson, Director of Community Resources and Ross Williams were also there to answers questions. This was an informational meeting for council. It brought them up to speed on the HCA Master Plan. City Council asked Niña to make sure that the HCA Commission is completely informed on all issues, including the temporary fence.

Donald Tallman stated that communication is critical to the success of our goals and in fulfilling the Master Plan. One of the things the Commission will do tonight is to identify the constituencies that we serve and ask how our publications can be targeted toward them.

Donald announced that the HCA Marketing Coordinator Diana Allen, is resigning.

Donald thanked Robert Bhasin for volunteering to facility this communication and marketing meeting.

Roberta Bhasin began facilitating the meeting. Attached you will find the ideas and comments from commissioners and staff during this session. This data was submitted to Roberta and Niña who will take the information and create a target marketing and communication plan.
