Naturalist Guided Night Hikes!
Leave those flashlights at home for this unique hiking adventure. You will be guided by a park naturalist along the park's trails and surrounding green spaces. Wear comfortable hiking shoes, dress for weather conditions and bring water. These hikes are designed for the whole family, but each will average an hour and a half of walking and observing. No dogs please.
Park entry fee applies. All registration close dates are the Monday preceding the hike.

The City of Lakewood received an application from KB Home to rezone the vacant property at 2800 S. Rooney Rd. from Planned Development (PD) to the Mixed-Use Employment with a Suburban context (M-E-S), Mixed-Use Neighborhood with a Suburban context (M-N-S), Two-Family and Small Lot Residential (R-2), and Small Lot Residential (R-1-6) zone districts that allow for residential, retail, and office uses. The adjacent properties to the north and east are zoned PD. The adjacent properties to the south are zoned PD and Agricultural (A-2). The current PD zoning for the surrounding properties permits office, retail, and residential uses. The purpose of the rezoning request is to develop residential uses other than multi-family, which is currently not allowed. The map on the back of this notice outlines the boundary of the area included in the rezoning request.
Section 17-2-2 of the Lakewood Zoning Ordinance provides the review criteria for a rezoning application and also requires the applicant to hold a neighborhood meeting prior to submitting a formal application. The purpose of the meeting is to provide neighbors and nearby homeowners associations with information about the proposed rezoning and an opportunity to ask questions of the applicant and City staff. This notice is going to residents and owners of property within 500 feet of the site, and to neighborhood and homeowners associations that are registered with the City and located within ½ mile of the site.

This notice is being sent per the Intergovernmental Agreement (IGA) between the Town of Morrison and City of Lakewood for a Phase I Final Development Plan (FDP) per Section 2.05(1) of the IGA. This notice is to inform you that KB Home would like to process a Phase I FDP for a 19.18 acre property located in the Rooney Valley at 2800 S. Rooney Rd. The property is zoned Planned Development and abides by the Humphrey Property Official Development Plan with the underlying zone district Mixed-Use General with a Suburban context (PD/M-G-S). The zoning allows for residential development including single-family detached. The proposal is to develop single-family detached residential units.
