Laura Phelps Rogers is a contemporary artist working in the conceptual genre. Over the past several years, her work has focused around metal casting, casting through subsititution and combining cast materials with mixed media. A Space in Time is a continuation of her work addressing personal and familial memories that broaden into larger social and cultural topics and interpretations. We are delighted to host Laura's exhibition in addition to working with her as the guest juror for IDENTITY.

Narrative Identity through the Figure - Juried by Laura Phelps Rogers
The goal of this year's annual sculpture show, through the vision of the guest juror, is to use the figure as a means of exploring identity. The artists are challenged to recall past experiences and through the use of the figure, build a biographical or autobiographical story. That story is meant to turn views into visual listeners and evoke emotions and thoughts about one's own self.
