Lakewood welcomes the 8th Annual Jeffco Juried Teachers Exhibition to our venue! This exhibition features works in a variety of mediums, including ceramics, sculpture, photography, painting, drawing, collage and mixed media, by instructors currently teaching at Jefferson County elementary, middle and high schools.
Exhibit free and open to the public April 11 - May 7, Mon. to Fri. from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.
A juried student art show presented by Jefferson County Middle Schools. This exhibit showcases the most outstanding of Jefferson County student art and conveys the artistic skill, quality of design and higher-level thinking of local middle school students.Exhibit is free and open to the public daily from April 11- May 7 during Lakewood Cultural Center operating hours.
In 2007, the ACIC was established to serve in an advisory role to City Council, involving citizens more directly to provide public input. The ACIC is made up of eight committees consisting of 43 members. The ACIC committees bring forward initiatives or issues, which the commission deems important for consideration by City Council. ACIC committees may receive assignments from City Council to research specific issues or topics that interest the community and then make recommendations accordingly. All ACIC meetings are open to the public and citizen participation is encouraged.
Lakewood Police Explorers would like to welcome youths ages 14-21 to join us.
Our program includes classroom and practical training of various aspects of policing. Explorers are also involved in competition with other Law Enforcement Agencies. Come and see what we are all about!! The open house will include presentations, K-9 Demo and a Police department tour with refreshments.
Mark Your Calendars! The next Neighborhood Watch Block Captain Meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, April 25th from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. in the Lakewood Police Department Training Room, 445 S. Allison Parkway. The topics will be CERT (Community Emergency Response Team) presentation, and some information regarding Code Enforcement issues.
