Rockin Block Party

Rockin Block Party 2019

Saturday, June 8, 5-11 p.m.

Time to HANG LOOSE and COME TOGETHER for our annual summer kick-off event! This year, travel back in time with us to 1969 in celebration of Lakewood's 50th Anniversary for an evening full of FREE live music, family fun and an outdoor movie.

Music | Outdoor Movie | Activities | Food Trucks | Beer Garden

Music

4 Lads from Liverpool, 7 p.m.

Because you guessed it, nothing says 1969 like the Beatles. The Beatles changed the way we all listen to music and '69 was an important year for the group. It was the year of their last public performance—there was a rooftop involved—and the year they released the "Abbey Road" album. These lads will be performing the Beatles top hits from the 60s and paying homage to that monumental year we fondly reflect on today.

Soul Sacrifice, 5:30 p.m.

With great passion and precision, Soul Sacrifice faithfully recreates the music of the legendary band Santana. Santana's music appeals to multiple generations of fans, transcending age, ethnicity and genre, from the electrifying breakthrough performance at Woodstock in 1969 to the recent smash hits of the albums "Supernatural" and "Shaman."

Outdoor Movie

The Love Bug, 9 p.m.

Get cozy on our amphitheater hill for an outdoor movie screening of this 60s favorite. Be sure to stop by Foothills Credit Union’s booth to snag some popcorn before the movie!

Race car driver Jim Douglas (Dean Jones) and his philosophical mechanic, Tennessee Steinmetz (Buddy Hackett), find themselves in possession of a white Volkswagen Beetle that seems to have a mind and spirit of its own. Calling the car Herbie, Jim and Tennessee become the talk of the California racing circuit -- much to the displeasure of sports car dealer Peter Thorndyke (David Tomlinson), who tries to use his assistant (Michele Lee) to come between the friends and their car.
