Lakewood Recreation offers exciting events during the year for youth, adults and older adults alike. Come join us and have fun while getting your exercise and meeting new people!

50 and Going Strong Fitness Challenge


Celebrate the city's 50th Anniversary by completing your own fitness challenge. Attend 50 sessions of any Lakewood Recreation class (general admission or registration) by the end of 2019 for the chance to win prizes!


Register at any Lakewood Recreation Center.


50 Fitness Challenge

FREE Community Yoga


Rejuvenate your mind and body with a free community yoga class. This class is suitable for all levels, and participants are encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item for donation to the action center. Recreation center admission applies ($4 youth/student/senior, $5 adult, or free with annual or punch pass). No pre-registration required, space available on a first come, first served basis.

May 4 - Align and Flow
June 1 - Vinyasa Flow
July 6 - Children's Yoga
August 3 - Vinyasa Flow
September 7 - Yoga - Core Strength
October 5 - Meditative Yin

Older Adult Wellness Fair


Join us for Lakewood's annual Older Adult Wellness Fair where attendees can chat with vendors and support service companies, as well as enjoy fitness demonstrations and classes, and balance and strength tests.

We asked, you shared! Lakewood’s Community Resources Department completed its arts, parks and recreation master plan in 2017.


Thousands of residents contributed to the plan's development by giving us honest and thoughtful feedback. The six goals and 42 actions included in the master plan, which was adopted by Lakewood's City Council on October 23, 2017, are featured and explained on the Imagine Lakewood! project site.
