The Lakewood Comprehensive Plan provides residents, City Officials and staff with a framework for making sound land use decisions. Neighborhood Plans, Corridor Plans and Special Area Plans have been adopted as amendments to the Comprehensive Plan to address specific geographic areas of the City in greater detail.
Creating a corridor or special area plan involves collaboration among City staff, property owners, business owners, residents, and other stakeholders. The planning process involves working with these stakeholders to identify a vision and future direction for each specific corridor or special area and to establish goals and action steps to implement the vision.
The corridor and special area plans adopted as Lakewood Comprehensive Plan amendments are identified on the map below. The City has also worked with stakeholders to create station area plans for the six light rail stations in Lakewood and the West Colfax Avenue Corridor.
