Lieutenant Colonel Dave Grossman

Colonel Grossman is an internationally recognized scholar, author, soldier and speaker. He is one of the world's foremost experts in the field of human aggression and the roots of violence and violent crime. Colonel Grossman is the founder of a new field of scientific endeavor, which has been termed "killology." In this field, Colonel Grossman has made revolutionary new contributions to our understanding of killing in war, the psychological costs of violent crime that is raging around the world, and the process of healing the victims of violence. Colonel Grossman has helped train mental health professionals and was involved in counseling in the aftermath of violent school shootings, to include Columbine High School.

Dr. Nicoletti is co-founder of Nicoletti-Flater Associates and has been a police psychologist in the Denver-metro area for more than 25 years. Over the last ten years, the Nicoletti-Flater private practice has expanded into the field of violence and violence prevention. Dr. Nicoletti has established himself as a national expert in workplace violence. Dr. Nicoletti has received many awards for his distinguished contributions to the field of psychology, most notably from the Colorado Psychological Association and the American Psychological Association. He has conducted hundreds of workshops, training seminars, and consultations across the United States.


 

Jason Schecterle

A story of inspiration provides a journey of hope and a testimony in courage. Since he was a teenager, Jason had one dream, and that was to be a Phoenix police officer. At age 26, he achieved his dream and went to work on the streets of Phoenix as a rookie police officer. Only 14 months into what was supposed to be a 25-year career, Jason's life took a dramatic and tragic turn. Jason's journey chronicles the fight for life in the face of overwhelming adversity and it is a story that exemplifies that the power of the human spirit can never be underestimated or extinguished.

 

 


Bobby Smith, Ph.D

Bobby Smith, a retired Louisiana State Trooper, is an internationally recognized speaker with a Masters Degree in Education and Ph.D in Counseling Psychology. Bobby shares his education and experiences of his 25-year law enforcement career. He also reveals the traumatic events of his life, including the incident on March of 1986, which left him blind. In his trauma seminars, Bobby Smith discusses critical incident issues and how the trauma affects the individual mentally, physically, emotionally and behaviorally. With a unique blend of seriousness and humor, Bobby Smith talks about how to deal with the tragedies of life.

Debbie and Rob Smith (a retired police officer) speak about a traumatic incident in their lives, which taught them the importance of self-empowerment and victim advocacy. As a result, they founded the H-E-A-R-T Foundation to provide hope for victims of sexual assault, and strive to strengthen law enforcement's resolve in the continued fight for victims' rights. Through the foundation, they work to influence positive change in laws, educate public and private professionals, and provide essential therapeutic support for victims.

Kevin Gilmartin, Ph.D

Dr. Gilmartin is a behavioral scientist specializing in law enforcement and public safety related issues. He is the author of the book, "Emotional Survival for Law Enforcement: - A Guide for Officers and their Families. He previously spent twenty years working in law enforcement. He is a charter member of the IACP - Psychological Services Section and former vice-president of the Society of Police and Criminal Psychology. He holds a doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Arizona and is a licensed psychologist in the state of Arizona.
