Assist in Identifying Suspect

Lakewood police detectives are asking for assistance in their attempt to identify a man who has been using the credit card account numbers of several victims to make purchases at various merchants.
Between February 8, and March 14, of this year the suspect made or attempted to make purchases at locations such as Best Buy, Target, 7-11, Walgreens as well as others in the Denver Metropolitan area.
Sixteen Capital One credit card holders reported recent credit card fraud (usage) on their accounts. Capital One advised detectives the credit card numbers being used were some of the many compromised during the breach occurring at Target stores during 2013. All but one of the credit card holders are residents of Colorado.
Detectives indicate that during the above date range there was almost $15,000.00 worth of unsuccessful or attempted transactions and almost $9,000.00 worth of successful transactions that were made in the Denver Metro area using these card holders’ accounts. The suspect appears to have encoded the cards in the name of Steve Locke or Steve S Locke. Images of the suspect have been captured on store surveillance video and are attached to the email carrying this release.
Anyone who feels they have information that would identify the suspect and/or assist detectives in their investigation is asked to contact the Lakewood Police Department or Detective Muller at either 303-987-7111 or 303-987-7281. Additionally you may call Crime Stoppers at 720-913-STOP. You can remain anonymous and possibly earn a reward of up to $2,000.00.
