Swim free - and comment on Glennon Heights Pool

May 17, 2018 - The City of Lakewood is planning to upgrade the Glennon Heights Pool bathhouse and baby pool following the 2018 summer season. Please join the design team from 5 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, June 12 at the pool located at 10600 W. Virginia Ave. The pool will open to the public for free starting at 5 p.m., so bring your family and neighbors for a fun evening pool side. The design team will be on deck to explain the details of the renovation project and ask for your feedback on the concept for the spray pad, which is designed to replace the current baby pool.

Glennon Heights Pool was constructed in 1964 and was operated by Foothills Park and Recreation District until Lakewood assumed ownership in 2000. The pool, which is open during the summer months, features a 25-meter pool with a diving board, above ground baby pool and small bathhouse. City Council funded the estimated $600,000 bathhouse and baby pool improvements in the 2018 budget. Work will begin following the 2018 summer season and should conclude in time to open for the 2019 season.
