Lakewood’s Heritage, Culture and the Arts division has completed its final master plan for the Lakewood Heritage Center and will present it to the public at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, September 6 at an open house in Lakewood Heritage Center's Orchard Room. The master planning yielded extensive public feedback via online surveys, open house events and interactive displays at Cider Days. Also included is the valued input of historians, business owners, civic leaders and volunteers. The 2017 master plan builds on the original 1996 vision for Lakewood Heritage Center as a 20th century outdoor museum and event venue, ushering it into the future with enhanced programming and amenities for the public’s enjoyment.
In addition to viewing the final master plan, attendees will have the opportunity to meet new Lakewood Heritage Center Administrator Betsy Bowers, who joined the City of Lakewood after three years at The Smithsonian Early Education Center in Washington, D.C.
Residents who are unable to attend the meeting may view the plan at Lakewood.org/LHCPlan. For more information, contact the Lakewood Heritage Center at 303.987.7850.
