A classic holiday tradition continues at the Lakewood Cultural Center with Dawson│Wallace Dance Project’s “The Nutcracker” on stage Dec. 14-15 and 21-23. Peak performances are 2 p.m., Saturdays, Dec. 14 and 21 and Monday, Dec. 23, and 1 p.m. and 5 p.m., Sundays, Dec. 15 and 22. Off-peak performances, offering reduced ticket pricing, are 7 p.m., Saturdays, Dec. 14 and 21.
Celebrating its 14th season in Lakewood, this Nutcracker is not just for sugarplum fairies! Clara dreams of toy soldiers, sword fights and the final battle between the Evil Mouse King and her beloved Nutcracker Prince, all set to Tchaikovsky’s lush score. This fast-paced, whimsical version of this holiday classic is a perfect outing for the whole family…not just the little princess.
