Mayor's 2018 State of the City goes bold

Mayor Adam Paul’s annual State of the City speech on March 8 will not only set a bold vision for the city, it will also stream live on Facebook for the first time.

The mayor’s speech is part of a community luncheon that will be 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. tomorrow at the Sheraton Denver West, 360 Union Blvd. To watch the speech live go to Facebook.com/Lakewoodgov.

Mayor Paul’s focus for the speech is “be bold!” He takes a unique look at how Lakewood as a community has handled its challenges during the city’s history, and he highlights those taking bold action to address needs in the city. After spending last year having conversations with Lakewood’s children, he will also talk about what he heard from them.

“Lakewood is a strong city, but I always believe we can be better and do more. I look forward to highlighting how we can accomplish that,” Mayor Paul said.

About 300 residents, business leaders and community members will attend the event, which is hosted by the Lakewood-West Colfax Business Improvement District and the Alameda Corridor Business Improvement District. This unique event raises funds for nonprofits serving Lakewood residents.

Lakewood is the third largest city in the metro area and is the place where one in 20 residents in the metro area live.
