Open house on update for munitions debris investigation

The Army National Guard and the Colorado Department of Public Health and the Environment will have an open house for residents to receive an update on the investigation of the Former Camp George West Artillery Range located on the north slopes of William F. Hayden Park on Green Mountain. The open house will be 6-8 p.m. on Feb. 22 in the Red Rocks College's Community Room, 13300 W. Sixth Ave. Pre-World War II era military training activities occurred on the site, and the investigation is determining the nature and extent of historic munitions use and unexploded ordnance that may pose risks to human health and the environment.
