How can Lakewood be more sustainable?

Share your ideas for making Lakewood a more sustainable city at the “Lakewood Sustains” open house 5:30-8 p.m., Nov. 12 in the City Council Chambers, 480 S. Allison Parkway.

During the Nov. 12 open house, residents, business owners and community members can offer their ideas on the following topics:

• How can Lakewood, its residents and businesses become more resource efficient?
• How can we reduce waste?
• What does sustainability mean to you?
• How can sustainability be incorporated into our everyday lives?

The guest speaker for this open house will be Eric Lombardi, executive director of Eco-Cycle Inc. and president of Zero Waste Strategic Inc., who is an authority on developing comprehensive community-based resource recovery programs.

This open house is the last in a series of five open houses for discussing how to update Lakewood’s Comprehensive Plan and to create the City’s first Sustainability Plan, both essential documents laying out the vision for the city’s future.
