How can Lakewood innovate?

Give us your thoughts at the "Lakewood Innovates" open house

Join in the community discussion about how Lakewood can be a leader in attracting appropriate businesses and development by attending the “Lakewood Innovates” open house, 5:30-8 p.m., Oct. 1, in the City Council Chambers, 480 S. Allison Parkway.

During the Oct. 1 open house, residents, business owners and community members will be asked to offer their ideas on the following topics:
• How can Lakewood continue to increase the prosperity of the city?
• Why is economic development important to Lakewood’s future?
• How can Lakewood foster the growth of local businesses and locally produced resources?

Guest speakers for this open house will be Tom Clark, chief executive officer for Metro Denver Economic Development Corp. and executive vice president of the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce, and Hunter Lovins, president and founder of Natural Capitalism Solutions.

This open house is the second in a series of open houses discussing how to update Lakewood’s Comprehensive Plan, an essential document that lays out the vision for the city’s future. The open houses also include discussions about creating the City’s first Sustainability Plan, an important step in making Lakewood more sustainable.

The open houses will continue in October and November. For a complete schedule and list of topics, visit or “like” us at
