Several Lakewood community organizations supported an application for an Environmental Protection Agency grant to help Colfax Avenue. The EPA said that support played a significant role in awarding a $900,000 grant to the Colfax Mainstreet Coalition. Those community organizations were honored at recent event with a certificate of appreciation, and they included Metro West Housing Solutions, Red Rocks Community College, Lakewood-West Colfax Business Improvement District, West Colfax Community Association, Two Creeks Neighborhood Organization, Eiber Neighborhood Association, Northeast Lakewood Neighborhood Organization and Morse Park Neighborhood Organization.
