I. Teen Court

Teen Court is designed for first-time juvenile defendants who have pled guilty to municipal code violations. An adult judge presides over the trial and teens act as the prosecutor, defense attorney and jurors. After hearing the case, the teen jury determines the juvenile's sentence which must include community service and teen court jury service. Jurors may also require the juvenile defendant to complete classes, essays, apology letters and/or any other appropriate conditions. The sentence is binding and must be completed before the case can be closed.

Middle and High School students are encouraged to volunteer.

II. Youth Education Team
 Y.E.T.

The Youth Education Team gives at-risk youth a true picture of the consequences of delinquent behavior.

Consisting of a collaboration of law enforcement agencies and community volunteers, Y.E.T, strives to educate at-risk youth about the realities of drug and alcohol abuse, criminal behavior, gang involvement, and truancy.

Using a roundtable approach, incarcerated individuals speak about their criminal offenses and the pressures they succumbed to in their homes, neighborhoods, and schools.
