Through
2006, cooperative efforts among Information Technology teams of
network, software and business systems saw an impressive list of
accomplishments. Part of the deliverables included a variety of
new reports and data analysis to assist City staff in conducting
business more efficiently.
Notable
accomplishments and services delivered by Information Technology
teams in 2006 include:
- 375
Geographic Information System (GIS) projects such as custom
maps or spatial data analysis

- 160
different police records reports and over 200 including
one-time special reports/analysis
|
- Police
reporting environment implemented to allow internal web
access by PD Command & Staff
|
- Implemented
new sales tax calculation and special district handling
and financial reporting
|
- Ad
hoc reports across all other systems such as revenue, court,
and recreation use, and more.

- New
Structured Query Language (SQL) Relational Data Base Management
System (R-DBMS) installed replacing Pick MV-DBMS (Multi-Value)
in Police, Finance and Human Resources. This enables IT
to produce more online reports and the ability for users
to extract information without involving IT personnel.

- It
added new features to the court system with several maintenance
releases last year. Customer satisfaction with the product
went from an intial "C" to an "A" grade.

- we
made modifications to the tax revenue system to incorporate
new tax rate requirements, added spatial component to tax
areas for enhanced geographic-based tax reporting.
|
- Our
web-based mapping application, ezMaps, was enhanced to provide
zoning data, survey benchmark locations and data, and parks
and recreation information.

- Mapping updates from GIS to Police Dispatch increased
speed 10 times with great accuracy.

- Software development environment was replaced and programming
staff is now on Microsoft .NET development platform.
