Awards and Recognitions
The Mountain Plains Region of the
National Association of Housing and Redevelopment Officials (NAHRO)
awarded the Authority the "President's Award" for high
performing agencies.
The U.S. Department of Housing
and Urban Development awarded a bonus of $68,021 in funds in 2003
because it designated the Lakewood Housing Authority as a "high
performer."
In June 2003, the Mountain Plains
NAHRO awarded the e-ASSIST program an "Award of Excellence
for Community Outreach" for its innovative approach. e-ASSIST
is a kiosk where the public an receive centralized access to programs
and services within the City of Lakewood's Housing and Family Services
Department.
The U.S. Department of Housing
and Urban Development designated the Lakewood Housing Authority
a "high performer" under the Public Housing Assessment
System with a score of 100 out of 100 points for 2004.
Willow Glen, a 70-unit apartment
complex opened in 2004, received the Terrence R. Duvernay HOME Program
Awards of Excellence from the National Community Development Association.
The Lakewood complex is only one of 17 projects to receive the award
this year.
