A neighborhood meeting will be held to discuss the proposed Coyote Gulch Park Light installation on Thursday, May 2 at 6 p.m. at Lutheran Church of the Master, located at 14099 W. Jewell Ave. Coyote Gulch Park, located at 2501 S. Gladiola Way, has experienced 1,700 calls for police service and 40 arrests since 2003. The large volume of service calls indicates a safety and security need that must be addressed in the near term. Lakewood police and parks staff will meet with residents to provide additional background and data regarding the safety concern, as well as detailed information on the light levels and fixtures. Three lights are indicated for the parking lot in existing medians that will provide a consistent light level across the lot. The lights are white LED, 25-feet tall and downcast with minimal light spill beyond the parking lot. Photocell controls allow staff the ability to change the light levels throughout the course of the night.
