We offer a variety of educational classes for youth during the year.

Engineering

 

Play-Well TEKnologies teaches Pre-Engineering Lego and Engineering Fundamentals to kids using the Lego system to build/design engineering challenges and develop students' problem solving and critical thinking skills in a fun, educational setting. 

 

Mine, Craft, Build

Design your own Minecraft world and bring it to life in LEGO®.

 

Ages: 7-12
Fee: $95 Resident, $115 Nonresident
Dates: November 24-26
Time/Day: 1-4 p.m., Monday-Wednesday
Location: Lakewood Link Recreation Center

 

Construction Vehicles & Machines

Dig into engineering with big trucks, construction vehicles and super machines. Explore the engineering terms, concepts and vocabulary behind large-scale building machines. Build and learn about steamrollers, bulldozers, wrecking balls, tower cranes and more while building with your favorite building system, LEGO®. 

Ages: 5-7
Fee: $95 Resident, $115 Nonresident

Babysitting

American Red Cross Babysitting training certification course prepares youth to safely and responsibly care for themselves and other children in the absence of parents or guardians. Please bring a sack lunch. Babysitter’s handbook and materials included in class fee.

Ages: 11 and up
Fee: $99 Resident, $125 Nonresident
Dates: September 6, October 11, November 8
Time/Day: 9:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m., Saturday

Sign Language

Beginner/Intermediate

In these classes you will learn to fingerspell your own name, the alphabet and numbers as well as full words including colors, people, places, locations, food, animals and much more. Skills are learned through games
and activities. All abilities welcome! First time participants will need to purchase the required course book at the first class for $15.

 

Ages: 14 and up
Fee: $65 Resident, $79 Nonresident 
Dates: September 8-October 20 (Beginner)
            Oct 27-Dec 8 (Intermediate)
Time/Day: 7-8:30 p.m., Monday
Location: Wilbur Rogers Center
