Included in all facility passes and punch cards. These classes are ongoing for the fall season but are subject to change or cancelation. Please contact Carmody Recreation Center for the most up-to-date schedule.

Come and learn how to use the resistance training equipment safely from a certified personal trainer.

Continuing Strength Training
This is for the participant who does not need entry-level instruction and has a good base of strength. Focus is on the use of free weights, bands, bails and other equipment. Sign up on a daily basis at the front desk.


Core and More
Demanding circuit class designed to challenge the fit participant. Exercises will vary but will include aerobic and strength intervals with core exercises.

 

Early Bird Mix
Start your day off on the right foot! One hour of aerobics, with a combination of step, low impact or intervals. Some resistance training, abdominal training and flexibility are included.

 

Essentrics
This one-hour, dynamic, full-body, low-impact workout will give you a perfect balance of strength and flexibility for a strong and agile body. Essentrics can help you gain strength, eliminate joint pain, improve posture, reduce back pain, improve balance, gain flexibility and, most importantly, have fun!


Fit Intensity
Formerly Fit Happy Hour, this interval class is designed to offer cardio endurance, along with strength training to give participants a challenging but fun workout. Class will include abdominal work and stretching.

 

Fit Forever
Do you want to get fit and stay fit? This low-impact class will help you improve your aerobic fitness and your strength.

 

Kickboxing
Energetic class that combines pre-choreographed movements from boxing with dynamic fun music to challenge you with a hard cardio workout.

 

SilverSneakers® Cardio*
Get up and go with an aerobics class for you - safe, heart-healthy and gentle on the joints. The workout includes easy-to-follow low impact movement, as well as upper-body strength, abdominal conditioning, stretching and relaxation exercises designed to energize your active lifestyle.

 

SilverSneakers® Classic*
This class is designed to increase strength, range of movement, agility, balance and coordination and to improve participant's functional capacities, physical fitness level and sense of well-being.

 

SilverSneakers® Splash*
This class uses the water's properties to enhance agility, range of motion and endurance.

 

SilverSneakers® Yoga*
This class is designed to give participants the benefits of yoga, with breathing and flexibility work, using a chair for seated exercises as well as a balance tool for standing work.

 

Strength on the Ball
Did you know exercising on a Theraball will increase your balance and core strength? The class will focus on aerobic and toning movements.

 

Stretch
Stretching exercising will help create better circulation and skin tone, plus help reduce the risk of injury. This class includes movement, deep breathing and relaxation exercises. Loose clothing is recommended.

 

Zumba®/Zumba Gold®
Half party, half workout! This class is a fusion of the best of Latin dance moves and invigorating cardio that will burn fat and improve your overall cardiovascular condition. So fun you won't even notice you're working out! Zumba Gold® is lower intensity.
