Bear Creek Lake Park and the City of Lakewood Regional Parks Division offer a wide range of programs and events at all of our locations. Find out what's happening and get outside and visit us at Bear Creek Lake Park, William F. Hayden Park on Green Mountain and the Bear Creek Greenbelt.

July 1 - Oh Deer

 

Antlers are found on all members of the deer family (Cervidae) in North America including deer, elk, caribou and moose. We will answer questions about antlers, shedding antlers and the difference between all antlers. There will also be several examples of the deer antlers we have in Bear Creek Lake Park.

July 8 - Dinosaur Ridge

 The Friends of Dinosaur Ridge will be presenting dinosaur fossils that have been found in and around the Denver area. Learn about the time periods in which these animals lived and how they survived.

Do vampire bats really exist? Are bats blind? Find out the answers to these questions and more as we unfold the secret life of bats. We will also go on a short hike in search of the bats that call the park home.

Participants will learn about the wildlife and natural history of Bear Creek Lake Park through hands on education, programs and hikes. We will meet at the Bear Creek Lake Park Visitor Center.

Total Solar Eclipse Viewing
