Lakewood, at 45 square miles and twenty-five percent parks and open space is largely built out. The majority of development will occur as infill at the city’s core, along commercial corridors and within major employment centers.
The City’s only major greenfield area, Rooney Valley, is locate at C-470 between Alameda Parkway and Morrison Road at the City’s west boundary. The Rooney Valley is approximately 2,000 acres and is located in three jurisdictions; City of Lakewood, Town of Morrison, and Jefferson County. The Rooney Valley is zoned for a broad mix of residential, commercial, office and light industrial uses.
