The Bear Creek Lake Park Campground will be closed for the season on October 30th and will reopen April 1, 2024. Reservations for the season are now available. 2025 reservations will be available beginning January 2, 2025 at 10 a.m. MST.

A night under the stars is closer than you think. Bear Creek Lake Park is home to one of the closest, full-service campgrounds to the Denver metro area. Tents and recreational vehicles are welcome.

Camping season

Regular camping season is April 1-October 31.

Camping fees

  • $40 per night
  • $34 per night for annual park pass holders
  • $120 group area per night (group area open to scout and youth groups only during winter season)
  • $55 yurt; $65 cabin($10 fee for pets)

Campground features

The campground features 47 campsites, 3 cabins, 2 yurts and 1 group site. Amenities include a shared water-fill station and spigots, on-site restrooms, coin operated showers, and a sanitation/dump station.

The campground features 47 campsites which can hold up to six people. Campsites feature a fire ring, a picnic table and electrical hookups. Sites 1-47 have been upgraded to 20/30/50 amp. The group loop has 20/30 amp.

The group site is great for scout camping trips, family reunions, corporate events and more. Call 303-697-6159 for rates and details.

  • Cabins sleep up to six people on two sets of bunk beds. Each set of bunk beds has a twin mattress on top and a full mattress on bottom. THERE ARE NO BED LINENS PROVIDED.  
  • Cabins have electricity and heat.  
  • Adjacent to a picnic table and fire ring. 
  • Water spigots. 
  • Cabins are pet friendly. Up to two dogs are permitted with a $10 nonrefundable fee. 
  • Cabins 1 and 2 are ADA accessible. 

Fees: $65 per night (includes one vehicle pass)

These circular tents with windows and a skylight can accommodate up to four adults with two single bunk beds, and two additional adults in one tent outside (not provided). There is a table and chairs inside, and an adjacent outdoor picnic table next to a fire ring and a grill. There is no heat or electricity at the yurt. One yurt is ADA accessible.

What to Know Before You Go 

  1. Check-in is at 1 p.m. for all sites. Checkout is at noon. All times are strictly enforced.
  2. If coming and going from the campsite after-hours, the entrance location is at 14218 W. Hampden Ave., Morrison, CO 80465. View Map
  3. During the camping season, there are water-fill and dump stations, as well as toilet and shower facilities. Water is unavailable during the winter months within campsites but can be found in the Visitor Center.
  4. Campfires are allowed in designated fire rings but is subject to change depending on current fire restrictions. Please check Lakewood Fire Restrictions before you arrive for the most current status.
  5. The campground is pet friendly! Up to two dogs are permitted in each cabin and yurt; there is no limit at campsites. Pets are to be leashed, attended and picked up after at all times. There is a $10 non-refundable fee for pets in the yurts and cabins.
  6. A valid park pass is required for all vehicles: one vehicle pass is included in your reservation fee (except for the group site). Additional park passes can be obtained upon arrival at the main entrance.

Campsites

  • No more than two (2) vehicles are allowed onsite, and a valid park pass is required on all vehicles (one vehicle pass is included in the reservation fee).
  • Camping is permitted in designated sites only.

  • Maximum of six (6) people are allowed onsite.
  • No tents or recreational vehicles are allowed onsite.
  • No more than two (2) vehicles are allowed onsite, and a valid park pass is required on all vehicles (one vehicle pass is included in the reservation fee).
  • Cabin entrance code is the last four digits of the home phone number on the reservation record.
  • No smoking inside the cabins.

Yurts

  • A maximum of six (6) people are allowed onsite.
  • Only one (1) tent is allowed, and no campers or recreational vehicles are allowed onsite.
  • No more than two (2) vehicles are allowed onsite, and a valid park pass is required on all vehicles (one vehicle pass is included in the reservation fee).
  • The yurt entrance code is the last four digits of the home phone number on the reservation record.
  • No smoking inside the yurt.

Group Sites

  • Maximum of 25 people are allowed onsite and no restriction on the number of vehicles.
  • All vehicles must have a valid park pass.

Afterhours Entry and Late Check-in

  • The Bear Creek Lake Park main entrance is open only during regular business hours. Please use the afterhours entrance any time after these times:
    • May-September: 6 a.m.-10 p.m.
    • March, April, October: 7 a.m.-8 p.m.
    • November-February: 8 a.m.-6 p.m.

Glass and Alcohol

  • Alcohol is limited to 6% ABV.
  • No glass containers.

Pets

Quiet hours

10 p.m. to 7 a.m.

Other information and policies 

  • Lines or structures attached to trees are not permitted (including hammocks).
  • The RV dump station is only available to those with reservations.
  • There is a 14-night maximum stay limit in any 30-day period.
  • Drive only on designated roadways.
  • Unreasonable amplified music is prohibited.
  • Firewood is available for purchase from park rangers or the campground host. Collection of firewood from park areas is prohibited.

To cancel your reservation, log in to your CivicRec account at this link: https://co-lakewood.civicrec.com/CO/lakewood-co/.

1. Select your Account in the top left corner of the screen.
2. On the right-hand side select Transaction History.
3. Select the tab along the top that says Reservations.
4. Hit the button with three lines on the right of the reservation you wish to cancel. Make sure to select refund it to the card otherwise it will refund your reservation as a credit on your account.

If you are having issues with your refund, please call the Visitor Center at (303) 697-6159.

  • Full refunds will be given for campsite, yurt and cabin reservations if they are cancelled at least 48 hours prior to check-in time. Any reservations cancelled after this time will not be refunded.
  • Refunds will not be given once a site is occupied, nor for weather, insects, family emergencies, changes in travel plans or violations of park rules. For reservations lasting more than two nights, refunds will be given for cancellation of any nights beyond 48 hours’ notice.
  • A no-show is an automatic forfeiture of charges, and you will be charged for the full stay if the proper cancellation policies are not followed. 

During winter months, the following camping options are available:

Group Camping

  • Available for scout groups or official youth groups only.
  • Available for reservations by phone only.
  • Fees: $2/person per night. A daily park pass must be purchased for all vehicles.

Additional:

  • Water is not available in the winter. Small jugs may be filled at the visitor center during office hours.
  • Showers and flush toilets are closed for the season. Vault toilets are available.
